The VanMoof Up-Trade program allows you to trade in your VanMoof S3 or X3 bike and receive a €500 discount voucher towards the purchase of a new VanMoof S5 & A5 or S6 Series.

Details about the Up-Trade & Voucher

When you trade in your eligible VanMoof bike, you'll receive a €500 discount voucher that can be used:

  • Trade in your bike to receive a €500 discount voucher.
  • The discount is only valid towards a VanMoof S5 & A5 or the S6 Series.
  • Online at vanmoof.com or at any participating VanMoof sales partner.
  • Only available for VanMoof S3 & VanMoof X3 bikes.

  • Value: €500 discount on S5 & A5 or S6 models
  • Valid until: March 31, 2026
  • The discount voucher is personal and non-transferable
  • The discount cannot be redeemed on top of a different discount provided by VanMoof
  • The discount voucher can only be redeemed with VanMoof or with an Up-Trade Partner of VanMoof (an overview of which can be found on our partner map)
  • One voucher per frame number only
  • Single-use code
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash
  • No cash refunds

 

Requirements

To participate in the Up-Trade program, you must:

  • Be the registered owner of the bike (make sure you’re not a guest user before you unlink).
  • Be able to transfer ownership via the VanMoof app.
  • Bring a complete bike (battery, cartridge, frame, 2 wheels, saddle, etc.)

Note: Your bike can be working or non-working, but it must be complete. While including the charger and toolbox is optional, it's recommended.

 

How to Trade In Your Bike

Step 1: Find a Participating Partner

Visit our Partner Map and select "Up-Trade Partner" in the filter to find participating partners near you.

Step 2: Visit the Partner Location

Bring your S3 or X3 bike to a participating VanMoof retail or service partner. The partner will:

  • Scan your bike in Repair Mode
  • Verify the bike is not stolen
  • Confirm Apple Find My is removed
  • Check that the bike meets trade-in requirements

Step 3: Complete the Trade-In Process

You and the partner will complete a trade-in form together, including:

  • Your email address and bike frame number
  • Bike condition assessment
  • Ownership transfer via the VanMoof app

Step 4: Receive Your Voucher

Once the process is complete, you'll immediately receive your €500 discount voucher. You can use it right away or save it for later.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What's the difference between a the participating partners? 
There are two kinds of Up-Trade partners: the Up-Trade Drop-Off & the Up-Trade Full Service partner. Here's the difference:

  • Up-Trade Drop-Off: Drop off your VanMoof S3 or X3 and get your voucher code here.
  • Up-Trade Full Service: Do every step here. Drop off your bike, receive a voucher code and buy your new ride here.

Can I trade in my bike without an invoice?
Yes, as long as you can transfer ownership through the VanMoof app.

Does my bike need to be working?
No, your bike can be non-functional, but it must be complete with all major components (battery, cartridge, frame, wheels, saddle, etc.).

Do I need to make an appointment?
We recommend contacting your chosen partner first to check their preferred process. Every partner has their own way of working.

How long does the trade-in process take?
The entire trade-in process takes approximately 10-15 minutes at the partner location. You will receive the voucher immediately after the Up-Trade, and you can hand in the voucher immediately while you are still at our Partner. 

Can I trade in more than one VanMoof? 
Yes, you can. As long as you meet the requirements, you can Up-Trade as many bikes as you have. Please keep in mind that you can only use one voucher per new order. Vouchers are not "stackable". 

 

Voucher Questions

Why is the voucher worth €500?
We came to this number using learnings from a previous pilot programme and extensive market research and dialogue with both riders and partners. The Up-Trade covers bikes in any condition. The value offers the maximum we could with this in mind, whilst also simplifying the process by not getting into tiered values based on bike condition. We understand that some riders may believe that their bike is worth more and, if this is the case, we encourage them to keep riding or look at other re-sale options.

Where can I use my voucher?
Your voucher can be used online at vanmoof.com or at any participating VanMoof sales partner.

Which bikes can I purchase with the voucher?
The voucher is valid for SA5 and S6 models only.

Can I use the voucher for accessories or services?
No, the voucher is only valid for purchasing a new SA5 or S6 bike.

Can I combine the voucher with other promotions?
No, the voucher cannot be combined with other VanMoof promotions or discounts.

What happens if I return the bike I purchased with the voucher?
The voucher is valid for one purchase only and cannot be reinstated or exchanged for cash after a return.

Can I give my voucher to someone else?
The voucher is personal and non-transferable.

Can I use multiple vouchers on the purchase of a new bike? 
No, vouchers are not stackable. You can only use 1 discount voucher per bike order. You can trade in multiple bikes, though. 

 

Trade-In Questions

Can I trade in the same bike twice?
No, each frame number can only be traded in once.

Can I trade in multiple bikes? 
Yes, you can trade in all VanMoof S3 & X3's that meet the requirements. You will receive multiple vouchers. Please mind that you can only receive 1 voucher per email address, so use a different email address for your second Up-Trade. Note: You can only apply one voucher per new bike order; vouchers are not stackable. 

What if I can't transfer ownership through the app?
You must be able to transfer ownership via the VanMoof app to complete the trade-in. If you cannot do this, the partner will not be able to accept your bike.

Do I need to include the charger and toolbox?
While optional, including these items is recommended.

What if my bike has Apple Find My enabled?
You must remove Apple Find My from your bike before the trade-in can be completed.
