Your warranty
New VanMoofs comes with a 3-year warranty on the frame and parts. The battery, motor and ECU are covered by time or distance, whichever comes first.
| What's covered | EU, UK & Asia | US |
|---|---|---|
| Frame defects | 3 years | 1 year |
| Parts and accessories | 3 years | 1 year |
| Battery, motor and ECU | 3 years or 7,500 km | 1 year or 3,750 km |
| Wear-and-tear parts (tires, brakes, drivetrain) | Not covered | Not covered |
A few parts get extra protection early on. Failures of parts such as the chain, brake levers, wheels, fenders, handlebar and brakes, play in the headset bolt or wheels, and loss of brake fluid are covered in the first 4 weeks or first 150 km.
What's not covered: accidents and accidental damage, cosmetic damage, punctures, check-ups and regular maintenance, misuse or improper assembly, modifications or non-approved parts, and damage from chargers not supplied by VanMoof. Battery capacity is guaranteed at a minimum of 70% when used properly. Store your bike at 30% charge or more if you won't ride it for a while.
The full warranty terms are in our Terms and Conditions and New Vehicle Limited Warranty Guidelines. If anything differs, the Terms and Conditions apply.
How to request a warranty repair
You don't need to contact our support team first. Your partner takes care of everything.
- Find the right location using the table above.
- Book an appointment directly with that partner.
- Bring your original proof of purchase (your order confirmation or invoice).
- Get a diagnosis. The mechanic checks your bike and confirms whether the issue is covered.
- Ride on. Covered repairs are done on-site, and the VanMoof partner settles the cost* of covered parts and labour directly with VanMoof.
* Diagnosis costs may apply when visiting a different location than your own dealer.
Service & Maintenance
A yearly service at an authorized Service Partner keeps your bike safe, smooth and protected. Regular maintenance is not covered by warranty, but skipping it can affect your warranty coverage.
| How often | What to do |
|---|---|
| Every month (more often with heavy use) | Quick check: tires, brakes, lights and any loose parts |
| Every year | Full service at a VanMoof Service Partner |
| Every 6,000–8,000 km | Service the chain and sprockets |
| Whenever available | Install firmware updates via the VanMoof app |
Hearing an unusual noise? Stop riding and take a look. Check for loose components or debris in moving parts. Still not sure? Contact your local Service Partner for advice.
Brakes feel different? Your VanMoof has disc brakes with strong stopping power, so they may feel different from what you're used to. Take a few practice rides to get familiar with them.
Squeaky brakes? Usually the pads and discs just need cleaning. A Service Partner can help.

Frequently asked questions
Service & Sales Partners
What is a VanMoof Service Partner? Service Partners are high-quality local bike shops trained by VanMoof. Their mechanics combine local knowledge and VanMoof expertise with training, so you get expert help and are back on the road fast.
How do I book a repair appointment? Book directly with the Service Partner of your choice. You'll find their contact details on the partner map.
What is a VanMoof Sales Partner? Sales Partners are premium local bike shops where you can discover, test ride and buy the latest VanMoof models. If you bought your bike from a Sales Partner, they are your go-to place for service and warranty.
Can a Sales Partner repair a bike I bought somewhere else? Not always. Sales Partners focus mainly on sales and test rides. They may not repair bikes bought elsewhere unless they are also a certified Service Partner. Check the partner map to see what each location offers.
Do all Sales Partners offer test rides? No, not every partner has the capacity. Filter on Test Rides on the partner map to find one near you.
I bought from a dealer but want to use a different service location. Is that possible? Yes. Select Repairs on the partner map. A diagnosis fee may apply because it isn't your own dealer, so bring your invoice to show your bike is under warranty.
Maintenance & troubleshooting
How often should my bike be serviced? Once a year at an authorized Service Partner, plus a quick check of your own every month (more often if you ride a lot). Chain and sprockets usually need attention every 6,000–8,000 km.
Can I replace parts myself? Only VanMoof-approved replacement parts may be used on your bike. Your bike's certification only applies with original or approved parts for your specific model. Using non-approved parts requires individual permission from your local regulatory authorities, and can void your warranty.
Which parts must only be replaced with VanMoof-approved parts? Frame, fork and handlebar; motor, battery and electronic system; seatpost, saddle and kickstand; pedals, tires, rims and grips; brake system, chain cover and chain; rear hub and kicklock; front light, rear light and halo rings; mudguards, crank and charging port.
Can I buy parts and have them installed elsewhere? VanMoof doesn't currently sell parts to individuals. We strongly recommend having parts installed by an authorized Service Partner. That way installation and calibration are done right, your warranty stays intact, and the work comes with a quality guarantee.
Warranty
What can void my warranty? Modifying the frame or components, improper maintenance, accident damage, or using non-approved replacement parts.
Do I need to contact VanMoof support to make a warranty claim? No. Visit your Service Partner (or your dealer) with your original proof of purchase. If the issue is covered, they repair it on-site and settle the costs with VanMoof directly.
Prices
Why are prices recommended and not fixed? Service Partners are independent businesses with their own costs and local market conditions. Recommended retail prices keep pricing consistent and transparent across the network, while you always get genuine VanMoof parts.
How much does labour cost? Labour rates differ per Service Partner and are charged on top of part prices. They cover installation, diagnosis, repair time and technical expertise. Ask your local partner for their rates.
