Steep ramps, heavy groceries, or tricky hills? Let your bike do the heavy lifting. The Walk Assist feature provides a gentle motorized boost when you’re walking alongside your VanMoof.
⚠️ Compatibility Note: This feature is exclusively available for the VanMoof S6 series.
How to enable Walk Assist
Before you can use Walk Assist on the road, you need to activate it in your app:
Open the VanMoof app.
Navigate to Settings.
Tap Power.
Toggle on Walk Assist.
How to use it
Once enabled, using Walk Assist is simple:
Walk next to your bike (perfect for ramps, bridges, or steep inclines).
While walking, press and hold the right secondary button (the smaller of the two buttons on your right handlebar).
The motor will engage slowly, providing gentle assistance up to a maximum speed of 6 km/h.
Troubleshooting
Can't see the Walk Assist option in the app?
Make sure both your VanMoof app and your bike’s firmware are updated to the latest available versions. If an update is pending, install it first and check the Power settings again.
Walk Assist is enabled but not turning on?
Check the button: Ensure you are pressing the secondary button (the smaller one), not the main button.
Get moving: Walk Assist requires the bike to detect movement. Make sure you are actively walking next to the bike and then start holding the button down.
