Upon reporting theft in your VanMoof account, our system engages GSM cell-tower triangulation. This technology accurately determines your bike's location by triangulating signals from nearby cell towers.
Integrated with GPS, your connected smartphone's location services work alongside GSM technology for precise tracking. This dual approach enhances the accuracy and reliability of the tracking system.
Report your bike stolen
To activate our tracking system, report your stolen bike through your VanMoof app. Once reported, the system sends your bike's coordinates to our servers, facilitating easy tracking by you or our Bike Hunters... and your bike is disabled so it's of no use to thieves.
Tracking VanMoof S3 & X3 and older
When you report your 3-series (or older) VanMoof stolen, it gets blocked and disabled. You’ll receive an email with a tracking link; click 'track my bike' to trace it. It may take up to 24 hours for initial locations to appear.

Tracking VanMoof S5 & A5
When you report your 5-series VanMoof stolen, it locks immediately and enters stolen mode. You can view tracking in your MyVanmoof account by clicking 'Check bike location'.
If the button is missing, ensure your bike is reported stolen. If it is, your bike may not be sharing data yet. The map will appear once we receive location data.

Apple Find My
In addition to our internal tracking system, VanMoof seamlessly integrates with Apple Find My for general location awareness. This feature allows you to locate your bike even when it's not reported stolen, providing a broader context for your bike's whereabouts.
